Raffles Family Office, a multi-family office headquartered in Singapore and Hong Kong, is building out services specifically for ultra-high-net-worth clients holding large portions of their wealth in stablecoins and other digital assets, a segment founder and CEO Chi-Man Kwan says traditional banks are poorly equipped to serve.

Kwan pointed to a basic gap in the market: a client holding $100 million in stablecoins often cannot get traditional private banks to properly manage or even fully recognize that wealth, leaving a growing pool of crypto-native fortunes underserved by conventional wealth management.

The shift reflects a broader generational change in how wealth is held. A 2026 survey from Ocorian found that 86% of family-office leaders now include crypto in client portfolios, with younger billionaires increasingly storing wealth on the blockchain through both established cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum and, notably, dollar-denominated stablecoins.

Raffles Family Office currently operates across six Asian cities, and has recently expanded its footprint beyond the region entirely, signing an agreement on October 22 with the Rwanda Development Board aimed at mobilizing capital for investment opportunities in Kigali.

The Rwanda partnership targets projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars, with the Bugesera airport development and tourism investments named among the opportunities in scope, marking a notable geographic expansion for a firm built around serving Asia's newly wealthy.

The combination of a crypto-native wealth management push in Asia and a parallel investment play in East Africa illustrates how firms chasing the new generation of digital-asset wealth are increasingly willing to move well beyond their traditional home markets to find both clients and investment opportunities.
