Designer Venera Tabakin Showcases Empowered Femininity on the Global Stage – Cannes Film Festival 2025

From the tropical shores of Phuket to the dazzling lights of Cannes, Venera Tabakin has built a fashion legacy rooted in elegance, empowerment, and bold femininity. Based in London, Venera is a designer known for her signature style—sexy, sophisticated gowns that make women feel powerful and unforgettable.

Her journey into fashion began in an unexpected place: the vibrant island of Phuket, Thailand. As the first non-Thai designer to present her collection there, she found inspiration in the island’s rich culture and the diverse expat community. It was in this setting that she refined her approach to design—creating graceful, alluring pieces that speak to a woman’s strength and sensuality.

Upon returning to the UK, Venera‘s work quickly gained recognition. Her creations have been featured on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival for seven consecutive years. Stars like Lea Mornar and Kiera Chaplin have worn her gowns, paired with exquisite Chopard jewelry, making unforgettable appearances at some of the world’s most prestigious film events. She also brings her fashion expertise to film production, working as both a producer and costume designer for short films.

But Venera’s mission extends beyond style. A dedicated advocate for women, she is an active supporter of initiatives like SHE SQUAD and “Yes She Cannes,” founded by Faith Elizabeth, which champion women in the film industry. In 2018, she had the honour of presenting her designs at the World Peace Night charity gala alongside LaToya Jackson—an evening that celebrated creativity, philanthropy, and powerful female voices.

Her designs have graced international stages, including the Latin Grammy Awards, the Venice Film Festival, the Berlin Film Festival, and the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah. Each gown is meticulously crafted to highlight confidence, beauty, and individuality.

For Venera, fashion is a force—it’s about more than looking beautiful. It’s about feeling empowered.
“She is elegant. She is feminine. She inspires. She leads. She is. She can. Yes, she Cannes.”
