Dubai will host the 8th edition of Airport Security Middle East from May 6–8, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Held alongside the 24th edition of the Airport Show, the event will focus on current and emerging airport security challenges, technological advancements, and future needs.
The three-day conference is under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Dubai Airports and Emirates Airline & Group.
The event will bring together industry leaders, decision-makers, and security experts from across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, offering valuable networking and business opportunities. Participants will explore cutting-edge technologies designed to enhance airport safety and efficiency.
More than 120 exhibitors from over 20 countries will take part, including national pavilions from Germany and Italy. The event will also host 150+ buyers representing 30+ countries.
With global airport investments projected to reach $2.4 trillion by 2040, the Airport Show comes at a crucial time. As of late 2024, the total value of global airport development projects stood at $589.1 billion, with $75.5 billion in the Middle East and Africa, and $34 billion in South Asia.
Artificial intelligence is playing a key role in reshaping airport security systems. AI-powered surveillance and access control solutions are helping airports respond to potential threats in real time, improve monitoring accuracy, and reduce false alarms.
Colonel Engineer Expert Marwan Mohammad Singel, Director of the Dubai Civil Aviation Security Center at Dubai Police, emphasized the importance of adopting modern technology and ongoing staff training to ensure safe and seamless travel experiences.
Dubai, home to two international airports, welcomed 92.3 million passengers in 2024, maintaining its position as the world’s busiest airport for international traffic for the 10th consecutive year.
May Ismail, Event Manager at RX Global, the organiser of the Airport Show, noted that the exhibition will feature the latest security innovations—many being introduced to the Middle East market for the first time.
According to Kamil Al Awadi, IATA’s Regional Vice President for Africa and the Middle East, air travel in the region is expected to grow steadily at 3.9% annually through 2043, further reinforcing the need for adaptive and robust airport security solutions.
